Eating Our Way Through Rome: Slice of Heaven Bakery & Coffee

Smack dab in the heart of the Town Center in Rome, Wisconsin, there's a charming little bakery that captures the essence of nostalgia and indulgence – Slice of Heaven Bakery & Coffee.

Located right next to the gazebo, it’s easy to find, especially since the aroma of fresh-brewed coffee greets your senses even before you get out of your car. It wafts through the air, enticing you to step inside and experience the goodness that awaits. But this delightful little shop isn't just a bakery. It's a journey back in time. A place that brings back memories, and memories are made.

Once inside, Slice of Heaven transports you to a bygone era - a time when conversation and laughter flowed freely over a cup of coffee. There’s a chrome and Formica dinette that looks like Rebecca, the owner and baker extraordinaire, plucked it straight from Grandma’s kitchen. And from her family room, two cushy couches facing each other on a peony adorned area rug (because “It was Grandma’s favorite flower.”), a hutch with a record player, a Zenith radio, and a black and white tube TV.

Settle in and take in all the smells. Afterall, the smell of fresh baked goods is high on the list of life’s most cherished little moments. And your senses will kick into overdrive as you take in the smell of blueberry muffins, cinnamon twists, and cranberry walnut bread, to name a few. They’re all here. Along with, a seductive assortment of mouth-watering cakes, cookies, and pies.

So now what do you do? You didn’t expect it to be this hard. So many choices. But that’s OK, you can try the chocolate covered Oreos and Reversed S'mores this time and save the garlic cheese bread for next time. Because there will be a next time.

In fact, chances are, Slice of Heaven Bakery & Coffee will become part of your daily routine.

Slice of Heaven Bakery & Coffee is located at 1158 Snow Pass in Rome, Wisconsin.
