Discover Rome Area Family Trails (DRAFT)
Rome’s local community hiking and biking volunteer organization whose objective is to make silent (non-motorized) sports safer and more accessible within the town and surrounding areas. As development continues in the community, D.R.A.F.T. looks forward to defining and developing resources to provide additional recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.

Faith In Action

Friends of the Lester Public Library of Rome
Formed in 2006 by avid readers and library lovers, the Friends of the Lester Library have helped to expand the library’s reach in the Rome community. Through fundraising efforts and advocation for the continued growth and awareness of all the library has to offer, the Friends have helped plant the seeds of reading for generations to come.

Home Town Rome Players
The Home Town Rome Players is a group that focuses on sharing local creative talents as a service to our community. This includes dancing and acting troupes. Since 2010, the group has raised over $100,000 for local charities and projects. The group is open to all ages and skill levels and holds free dance classes at the Town Hall throughout the year.

Master Gardeners
The Wood County Master Gardener Association is an energetic group of gardeners who are dedicated to our communities and excited to gain and share knowledge with the public. We have over 25 members and seven garden projects in Rome, Wisconsin Rapids, Nekoosa, Port Edwards, and Marshfield. We sponsor our own fundraisers to finance projects and educational programs for children and adults in our communities.

Monroe Prairie ATV Club
The Monroe Prairie ATV Club was established in 1989 to promote fun and safe ATV/UTV riding as well as provide instruction and information so that all riders will respect trail systems and all others that use the trails. The club goal is to help promote economic development in the County of Adams for riders to enjoy the beautiful scenery and local businesses,. as The Monroe Recreation Area Trail system is a premiere riding experience in the Central Wisconsin area. The trail system represents 500 miles of road routes and 22 miles of road trails to various local businesses.
The club is responsible for maintaining the trail system, which includes development of trail maps; trimming grass, brush, and trees; tree removal; placing of trail signs; and grooming the trail bed. They offer an ATV/UTV safety course, in both the Spring and Fall of each year, to teach safety and DNR certify ATV/UTV riders that were born after January 1,1988.

Petenwell and Castle Rock Stewards (PACRS)
Petenwell and Castle Rock Stewards (PACRS) is a tax-exempt, nonprofit organization that coordinates and facilitates a diverse group of people focused on improving the water quality and recreation on the Pentenwell and Castle Rock lakes of the Wisconsin River. We partner with farmer-led councils, conservation groups, state and local agencies, individuals, businesses, and property associations in Adams and Juneau counties.

Rome Sno-Bandits
The Club is dedicated to providing the finest trails for recreational snowmobiling. Established in 1978, this group of volunteers grooms and maintains a network of 35+ miles of snowmobile trails in the Town of Rome. In 2020, the Town of Rome became a Snowmobile Friendly Community and in 2021, the Sno-Bandits was honored as Snowmobile Club of the Year by the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs. In 2022, they were named both National Club of the Year by the American Council of Snowmobile Associations and International Club of the Year by the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame.

Romemakers HCE
The organization’s goal is to enhance the lives of individuals and families through quality educational programs and experiences that encourage responsible leadership and service to the community. They provide members with an opportunity to learn and share in areas relating to home and family, community and program delivery, and good fellowship. Room to Roam Dog Park
Revered as one of the top dog parks in Wisconsin, the park hosts doggie play dates and other social events. Open year-round 24/7, the park includes picnic tables, benches, dog agility equipment, shelters, and ample space for your dog to play and socialize.

Shermalot Ski Team
The Shermalot Ski Team is the 3rd longest continuous-running water ski show in the state of Wisconsin. They perform shows weekly at the Lake Arrowhead Beach from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Their team holds six Wisconsin State Division II Championship titles and is a major attraction in Rome. The organization is committed to making the community a better place through family-focused entertainment, community service and youth leadership advocacy.

Tri-Norse Ski Club
Started in 1931 as a nonprofit ski jumping club, Tri-Norse has grown into a source of fun for families all year round. Explore the trails for hiking, cross-county skiing, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking. The park also hosts several events including Candlelight Hikes, a Fall Colorama, an annual Easter Egg Hunt, and an annual Mini-Mudder Obstacle Course.
