Hooz It Gonna Be?
Imagine you’re up on stage, mic in hand, singing your heart out. The competition is stiff. People with loads of talent, and some with even more, are vying for the top prize. Some are country. Some are rock n roll. While others are just doing their own thing.
The judges look stern. You can’t tell if they’re in awe or in shock. Finally, they vote. You’re in. You’re going on to the next round!
What are we talking about, you ask? What is this competition?
Well, we’re talking about the Second Annual Hoozels Rise to Music Competition!
With great excitement, Hoozels at the Lakes’ owners Meagan and Casey Benz are happy to announce that they’ll once again roll out the red carpet for all area musicians to showcase their best stuff.
And though Simon Cowell won’t be there, a country superstar is in the works! And he’s genuinely thrilled to be one of the judges. It’s true. He knows how hard it is to make it in the music biz, and that’s why he can’t wait to be part of this competition that puts a spotlight on tomorrow’s superstars.
So, here’s how the whole thing’s gonna go down; each Thursday, June 8th through July 20th, musical acts will compete on Hoozels’ stage, for a spot in the finale which will be held July 27th. The audience and a panel of esteemed judges will vote for their favorite act each week who will then move on to the finals in what will prove to be one of the greatest displays of musical talent ever assembled.
OK, so maybe that’s a little bit of a stretch, but these musicians are good. Really, really good. As Meagan Benz, says, “this isn’t karaoke night at the bar.”
In addition to moving on to the finals, weekly winners will be invited to an interview with 105.5 WIRI, Central Wisconsin’s choice for true country music. They’ll also have an opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a Rapids Rafters baseball game, and they’ll win a nice little pile of cash too.
The grand finale winner gets all that cool stuff plus a regular gig at Hoozels playing in front of their ever-growing fan base. That’s right, every month for a year, they’ll be welcomed back to the Hoozels’ stage where they can play the tunes that got them there and try out some new beats before they take it big time.
And speaking of big time, they’ll also be awarded the opportunity to lay down some permanent tracks at a professional recording studio, be featured on a 30-minute show on WHFR radio, and oh yeah, there’s more cash! Lotsa cash!
So, if you think you’ve got what it takes, then you owe it to yourself, and all of us, to register and get your name on the ticket. But hurry, registration is only open until May 10th.
